I've never read someone who said things so simply and succinctly, so much packed into so little. Is he the final boss of philosophy?

Just UG's method of negating everything, things that i assumed were important but as it turns out i could do entirely without

Note that at the time i was going down a rabbit hole consuming garbage oriental/occult wisdom content and schizo conspiracy stuff (the two go hand in hand). It's possible, if you already have a brain in your head, that you don't need to take the UG pill. He was mainly speaking to burnt out hippies who'd reached a dead end but still thought they were one crook in a robe away from enlightenment

Nice post, somewhat similar here, but my story of arriving to UG takes a lot of explaining for another time. UG is unique, and worth reading. I'm surprised, but obviously not that surprised that he's not more popular/well known on /lit/ or on other obscure forums. Anyways, for someone who is naturally questioning everything and try to find 'answers' UG is great because he'll knock you over like a bulldozer.

Mystique of Enlightenment if anyone wants to read. You need to get a background of the man first though, many YouTube videos of him and interviews

My guess is that you only saw a surface-level understanding of things. You probably read the words but it didn't quite 'click'.

What is the dead end? Sorry if I am making assumptions here, but if you only read books about mysticism it will always be unsatisfactory and probably useless too. Words and concepts are not reality, but any good mystic/occultist/oriental thinker knows this.
Experience is more important than rationalization and analysis of logical concepts and words. The point of mysticism, to me, is to bring the reader from philosophical systemizing to spiritual experience. If you just read a book (again, sorry if I am making incorrect assumptions) and thought that was all there was to it, then of course you will find a dead end.
