Which book do you dislike with the most fervency, /lit/?
Mine: Elements of Style by Strunk/White; this book is poison.

right there with you. Had to read it for a class last trimester, and fucking hated it.

Also, Hawthorne can go fuck himself. With a rusty, metal, bladed dildo.

Usually I enjoy books. They go from "that's a fun read" to "I must forever hold onto this book." However, one book has the rare trait of being passively loathed (meaning, bring it up in my company, I will fume) and that is "Planet Of The Damned" by Harry Harrison.

Title was wonderfully cheesy, premise was great, but once the reading started, it was 1 dimensional.

i too hated slaughterhouse. i thought the so it goes was a cheap little shtick and annoying, the cramming down the throat of boo-hoo anti-war and the humor was mediocre at best

his other books i've read were alright though

mostly because I didn't like the main character. he was pathetic, indecisive, and kept trying escape from reality by doing is time/space shifts.

speaking of those shifts, they were all fairly pointless, and didn't advance the plot beyond the same "MC can't deal with his shit" idea.

I just dislike literary works in general. I read things to be entertained, not to get annoyed
