I'm looking for a fantasy book that has some (or ideally all) of the following features:

- Entranced writing similar to Beagle's The Last Unicorn

- A world with lots of original ideas in lieu of the same old Tolkien rehashes

- Characters philosophizing about the world and their role in it

All other recommendations are welcome as well even if they don't fit these requirements.
