is this a good adaptation of the novel? I've been watching you sissies talk about Pynchon on here for years, but seeing this movie makes me want to check him out.

Faggots here probably hate it but I quite enjoyed it.

Joanna Newsom is a cast memeber, and I like her a lot, so I think the movie is good.

yeah, but they cut out some of the best stuff for time.

its a hard movie to review in any sense. it's just weird and because of that i guess its bad? i dont know. you can watch it and make ostensibly plausible arguments for opinion on the matter

That's right, Mike!

Like >>14587171 said, there are some pretty big things cut out (probably to make it "work" as a "movie"), but overall I think it captures the character of the book, and Pynchon in general, very well. The book itself is also very good, and probably a good introduction to him, especially if you've already seen the movie.

need someone more like Gilliam, the critic darling mid wit like PTA is dead wrong for Pynchon. It just created a total borefest

i think it's a pretty good translation of style. it's a tamer book too, so it works better on film. gravity's rainbow is a lot less coherently or realistically plotted. if you liked the IV movie i can't reccomend gravity's rainbow enough
