Personally, I can't enjoy popular art (music, books, movies, paintings etc) as much as obscure lesser known art because when you can't get into it raw, you'll always have expectations because everyone has already seen it, which makes you have an opinion of it before you even try it yourself
I also like feeling special because I know obscure things but I'll never brag about it because everyone wants to feel special and that makes us all not so special

This but it started way before zoomers, it actually started probably around 1920s-1940s when you had standardisation of education, proliferation of literacy, and the final vestiges of upper class society became industrialised. So rather than spending your entire free time immersing yourself in the arts, the upper echelons of society decided to become bankers and industrialists or face extinction, so time become an ever increasing commodity better spent making deals and solidifying your wealth base. Meanwhile the middle class, now suddenly literate and educated, began to use the arts more as a means of penetrating high society and as various layers of signals and dog whistles amongst themselves.
This then went through several filters of irony as modernism gave way to post modernism and now the problem isn't even that we trade anecdotal snippets of wikipedia articles as a means of social triangulation, it's actually because we're too tired and distracted to learn more about the things we DO like.
