Do I have tinnitus? Late at night when there's no sound I hear like mosquito buzzing and approaching but I turned on the light and there's nothing there. It's like a rather subtle sound but annoying nonetheless. It doesn't happen during the day (maybe because the day is lounder). Is this what tinnitus feels like?

Did you just get it recently? That sucks because it’ll take like a year or more to get used to it. Luckily I got it when I was a toddler so I’m used to it. Still sucks because it makes listening to someone talk in a loud room or something is impossible.

Since you haven't gotten a reply - all forms manifest differently. Mine is a kind of white noise. Maybe your lamps buzz quietly, which filters out the tinnitus. Also, if you actively listen to it, it gets louder. I can hear mine over music in my headphones if I want to.
