Yep

Dune (1965)
Dune Messiah (1969)
Children of Dune (1976)
God Emperor of Dune (1981)

These are the recommended ones. You can ignore other stuff.

This chart is more or less everything you need to know, I've read to Chapterhouse.
You can easily stop after God Emperor, and miss nothing, you can read Messiah and Children, or even just a plot summary and then read God Emperor (best in the series or tied with Dune).

No, because it is the best. I read the first book pretty quick, slowly worked through the next two, and then read half of God Emperor in one night, because I was really enjoying it, then I hit a wall again with the next two.

I sure hope so. I just started reading Messiah and Frank Herbert is already threatening to cuck Paul.

Heretics and Chapterhouse are major slogs.

Paul cucked himself, and that's the drama of the Muad'Dib books.

I hate to say it: I don't care about the Duncans. I really wish Herbert would have just used some new characters
