I don't feel like posting the review, but I can summarize it. The main contention I have is he makes weird, erratic associations that most modern scholars don't accept like Buddha being a Scythian who was revolting against Zoroastrianism and Lao Tzu being the same as Buddha... All these ungrounded theories flood his shit book that it's almost unreadable. I'm not joking. There are so many issues here, and the whole thing reads like a schizophrenic messed.
His semi-Nordicist readings on archaeogenetics are also shit, which I criticized with peer-review journal articles and the Global25 in R software using ancient and modern autosomal samples. I think the whole thing reeks of inferiority complex in many ways, since he didn't really discuss this stuff with any precision.
Also, there is something somewhat Satanic with his obsession in critique metaphysical dualism with a more macabre nondualism, which was stolen from a short story I privately shared with him. He promised to help find a publisher for me, but he never followed up on it. I did publish it elsewhere. Regardless, he just thinks the Faustian mentality is better than the virtuous one, and he kind of takes it too far in some areas.

Also, the book isn't even about foreign policy. He just has some commentary on foreign policy, but it's not even the focal point of his book. It's just delirious and chauvinist bullshit tinged with serious inferiority complex.

Go with Michael B. Oren’s Power, Faith, and Fantasy

Then a General History on the Region.

If you truly want to understand, though, I recommend War Histories, think-tank podcasts, a history of Islam, and keeping up with the news.
