Why do so many other young people these days (I'm 26) feel like nihilism is justified when it produces an inconsistent framework for their lives? And why is it so people my age who have at least a sense of faith/religion/transcendence don't know what to do with their lives or how to live them? Why is no-one telling us what to do and how to do it? How deeply does nihilism run in Western civilization and its principalities, and why?

Nobody feel like nihilsm is "justified". If you're well read on philosophy you don't, and if you aren't (aka are a normie) you don't either. The only people who think nihilism is a good "framework" are 14 year olds. In general, the death of god meme is overblown and not really relevant for anyone except edgy people.

The problem is that the population of edgelords is ballooning; more and more people are clinging to their 14yo frameworks because the generation before them enables it via secularism/progressivism/optimistic nihilism/whatever the hell we want to call it. The edge is not going away. It is metastasizing.

What is a 'inconsistent framework'?

>> No.14472138

>>14472123
No, its metastasizing because we live in a very materialistic political paradigm, which treats humans like commodities. If we ACTUALLY wanted to solve the problem, we would put LSD in the drinking water. Unless we can overthrow the world order, and establish international neo-archeo futurist PROGRESSIVE fascism we don't stand a chance. And ACCELERATIONISM is the way to do that.

i.e. little to no framework; based on nothing traditional; shifting and coming from oneself

Nihilism ia a very old intellectual tradition

People justify nihilism because that is where their philosophizing has led them. To deny an honestly reached conclusion because it leaves your life in despair doesn't make any more sense than believing in god just because your life were shit if he didn't exist.

basically we are all supposed to have this matrix of interlocking axiomatic propositions that structurate the rest of thought and if a contradiction between any of them seeps in it sours the whole thing

What a weird thing to ask OP. You should find a suitable pursuit to engage your talents. In order:
>date broadly so you can find a life partner
>work with passion and save your money
>purchase a house with 20% down
>start a family and plan for the future
>discover a new hobby and teach your children
>age gracefully and stay healthy to spend time with your grandkids
>reflect back on a life of quiet dignity and set enough money aside to handle funeral expenses
>die

Damn, that has a really nice ring to it. What other techniques do you have for speedy politics?

>Why is no-one telling us what to do and how to do it?
lol no. we are swimming in meta influence everywhere you look. hitting you not face to face but in your subconscious drives you wont be aware of if you never took a bit of time to understand which is most people. deep down people know this that there is something they need to parse into their conscious lives but take the nihilist route instead to say fuckall to the whole area of influence besides what they can use to benefit. lose lose and a win win depends on how you see it.

this is just a contradiction in terms

Our generation lacks imagination; the so-called "end of history" has stultified us with a vision of a neoliberal messianic kingdom of zero intellectual or moral worth. Nihilism is the child of this total absence of genius that we have learned to call progress.

>go back to school

>get married
>join my religion
>always do this
>never do that
what are you even talking about? everyone is telling us what to do or how to do it. society has very clear roles we're supposed to be playing. what's missing is the permission to take the time and make the mistakes we need to find our own way, so everything we're pushed into feels empty. fulfilment is achieved internally

Jews dominate much of academia and the media, and they are normalizing nihilistic sensibilities given how materialistic they are as a people. Many Jewish figures from Susan Sontag to Walter Block have pushed for a variety of nihilism.
