Maybe write based on the premise of a single father raising his daughter. His upbringing very underwhelming, found refuge in film, art, music, literature. He raises her and has so much fulfillment in showing her the things he enjoyed so much as a young adult. He dies early. Everything that embodied him lives on in the girl.
