Sounds a lot like me too, except I just turned 23 and I think I’m closer to this now than when I was 19. I had to stay in college an extra year and I’ve used time pressure as an excuse for why I can’t set any long-term goals for myself, but when I get a chunk of free time I still don’t do any big picture stuff like job hunting or starting an exercise regimen. At best I’ll work on something incremental like reading a book or two all the way through, or drawing or doing something else creative. And then whether I’ve got time or not, I’m almost always lost in thought without a real outlet to make all that thinking productive, and that replaces the mental need to have goals far more often than is good for me. I’m wondering what’s going to break the analysis paralysis, and honestly I think a look in this funhouse mirror is worth a shot for that.
