Can someone explain why Norm has me crying with laughter. I can't put my finger on his funny, and nobody seems to be able to explain his funny.

Also general theories of humor thread

His delivery style. He delivers his jokes in a non-chalant fuck-you way.

But also his book is hilarious. Ain't no delivery there

he is an extremely intelligent man who plays the fool. this is why he is God tier

He’s really not that intelligent and he actually tries to show off fairly often. He’s popular with pseuds for a reason. He’s more like a fool playing the wiseman playing the fool.

Some of his jokes are very childish or meta and you're sick of the cynical style of comedy we've had for the past twenty years.

the man always stutters and acts like he is drunk. You obviously haven't seen too much of his stand up. His linguistic and logical jokes fly far above the public's head. Do yourself a favor and get acquainted with this happy soul. I am under no illusion that he is a philosopher yet he is able to distill divine wisdom into some whimsical joke.

"What doesn't kill you, makes you extremely weak"

Who can quote Nietzsche and turn his aphorism on its head like that but a wise man?

For me, it's Mitch Hedberg.

There is an ancient Greek myth that involves King Midas and the satyr Silenus: Midas asks him what is best in life after having been granted the ability to turn everything he touches into gold; Silenus replies, "to have never been born"; to which Midas replies, "dark... ok second best?"; Silenus concludes, "to laugh."

You imagine it in his voice.

Why are people always so excited about Norm not being a retard? Is it just because almost everyone else in show business is a moron and that's what you expect? Let him be intelligent in peace, it seems unfair to put that pressure and expectation on him. He's clearly not well-educated or an intellectual and doesn't pretend to be.

I know that, I'm well-acquainted with Norm. Just watched his sitcom recently because I ran out of everything else, now watching Stan Hooper.
