I care about my family and I don't think I or her father can make a difference in her demeanor. We make an effort to not have school and the media raise them and act as surrogate parents. Her father seems to be much more involved than is typical, her brother is so courteous and had been for so long that it's as if he learned it from some pretty school of etiquette in England. The feminine completes itself though it's submission to the masculine, just as the moon gets its light from reflecting off the sun. She's bad at being feminine, she thinks herself equal or above men in both physical and mental faculties, which leads her to come off as a caricature of masculinity, similar to how typical homosexuals, or modern thots act. She's still a child so there is a purity to her, but she seems eager to suppress or ignore it, to the point it's no longer a conscious decision. Just the fact that she "hangs out" with myself and the other 20 something cousins past her generation as just "one of the group" without even trying to fit in and seeing no real decision is unsettling. She was in awe of the power, and I remind her that i'm not very strong (which she didn't believe) hopefully her father (6'7" and over 300pounds) shows her just how deep the rabbit hole goes, but that might actually hurt her. I made sure to let her use two hands and hold still, before totally folding her. There is a difference between wanting to fit in with the cool older crowd with more social capital and a different clique, and not realizing their is any difference between the two of you. When you don't recognize hierarchy internally and naturally you don't recognize legitimate authority, and this extends to the authority reason. it creates the difference between knowing something is true and actually believing it. it's simple to outsmart and correct kids, but they don't listen if they don't like the truth and don't see any compelling material reason to go along with it. The whole point is to cultivate good character so their natural inclinations promote good behavior, they can articulate the philosophical justifications for their beliefs and habits once their brain is developed.
