Hey /lit/erati.

I'm feeling uninspired. I want to write this weekend, but I'm not feeling the muse's hands cupping my balls.

How do I turn that fickle bitch on?

Byron locked himself away with a bottle of brandy and wrote one of the best collections of poetry since Shakespeare's sonnets. But you're not Byron are you? Nope.

Um, the facts? English Bards and Scotch Reviewers were the product of his outrage at the criticism drawn by Hours of Idleness. Frankly, I enjoyed Hours of Idleness, but I'm glad he got angry and drunk.

English Bards & Scotch reviewers is a poem, not a collection. He wrote it sober, though he was outraged.

Sorry to bother you all, I came to lit to find a word: Is there a single word that describes the idea that "boys will be boys" or the idea vocalized as "oh you"? I feel as though there is one but I can't think of it.

Not according to the multiple biographies I've read of Byron. Each one I've read said the same story of him going into his study with a bottle of brandy and coming out next day with the poem. While it is a poem, there is a collection known as English Bards and Scottish Reviewers. Perhaps that was published later, but I am almost certain it was published shortly after the poem was released.

I find that story to be highly dubious, given how long the poem is. If there is a collection by that name then I'm not familiar with it - thought it was published in two 'editions', the first anonymous.

Lower your testicles into a bowl of alcohol.

Or you could take a long walk.

I can't vouch for the latter, but the former definitely works.

OP here.

Tried the suggestions in this thread.

Balls are thoroughly ensauced. Burns like crazy, but I produced 5000 words today.

Thanks bros!
