how did ayn rands teeth get so ugly in later years?

>> No.1431025

From sucking Glenn Beck's cock.

>> No.1431030

are her books really about awesome people being awesome? i think only 0.05 % of the people here in germany have ever heard of her. i have never read one of her books

>> No.1431061

Just bought Atlas Shrugged a few days ago, what is lit's general stance on it?

>> No.1431074

>>1431061
It a better introduction to her philosophy than The Fountainhead.

>> No.1431083

>>1431030
Most of Rand's fans seem to be Americans. Also considering the list of philosophers Germany has to offer, I'd be taken aback if people here bothered with her.

>> No.1431085

>>1431030
She's every corporate CEO's favorite writer.
But yeah, her books are basically that. All of her protagonists are these ubermensch kind of people who are perfect in every way.

Her books don't focus on story though, she basically just uses it as a podium to talk about her ideas.
I just started Atlas Shrugged, but I know near the end of there is some speech which is like, 80 pages long.
I think that speaks for itself.

>> No.1431089

>>1431030
Her books are like this.
If you are not an outgoing, insanely talented, rugged individualist, well FUCK you

>> No.1431091

>>1431083
Rand's style of ultra-capitalism found a niche in the legions of commie fearing Americans, this is true.

>> No.1431134

>>1431085
huh... wow...
not too impressed with the lack of story and presumably boring speech, i hear bioshock takes its philosophy from the book? andrew ryan does sound much like ayn rand

>> No.1431147

>>1431025

Rand would have hated Glenn Beck

>> No.1431150

>>1431134
Well, yeah, a man is entitled to the sweat of his brow and all that. Society cannot take away from him what he does or creates, nor can he expect society to accept it. This is extremely prevalent in The Fountainhead.

>> No.1431155

>>1431134

Bioshock is a criticism of Objectivism

>> No.1431172

i think her books have way too many pages. how can it be that atlas shrugged sells so good atm in usa? i always thought only a small fraction of us-citizens read in their spare time.

>> No.1431182

in case you don't know, rand is american aids.

But she was Russian..

Also, I think the teeth had to do with her chain smoking and heavy drinking.

>> No.1431201

>>1431091
Oh well, I guess there's no better agitator than a commie hating, power-worshipping Russian
>>1431089
>>1431150
I couldn't bother through more than approximately half of it, care to tell me how things concluded?

>> No.1431217

>>1431203
she was a heavy drinker? drinking can be a form of escapism. maybe she hated herself

>> No.1431220

>>1431217
Of course she did, she wasn't nearly as perfect as she should have been, according to her novels.
Her flaws made her a parasite.

>> No.1431240

>>1431217
In her later years after her life crumbled to pieces to the tune of her own dickishness(the same kind of dickishness she exalted).

"She didn’t drink; she didn’t like the effects of alcohol. But she didn’t frown on others drinking socially."

??? what is true now?

and aids was a disease for monkeys. perfect analogy is perfect.

Judging from the half of Fountainhead I read, my impression is that rather than actually being one of those Übermenschen, she only wished to suck powerful men's dicks.

>> No.1431279

>>1431268
graphic language in fountainhead? maybe i should read it. this sould be so cool. fapping to a text passage. havent done it in decades.

>> No.1431277

>>1431268
Yes, but she also wanted exclusive access to their dicks.
She flipped a tit when she found out the person she was having an extra-marital affair with was sleeping with another woman! A woman his own age no less!(Rand was a cradle robber)

>> No.1431301

>>1431277

She only flipped a tit because he hadn't told her. Also both of the spouses knew about the affair. Both Branden and Rand decided to tell them before they even started.

>> No.1431318

>>1431279
There's no graphic language, but an awkward description of consensual rape and there be other sex scenes and if there are, I bet they share the theme of submission to the epitome of an alpha male.
>>1431277
You seem to know a lot about her. She doesn't even look good, I guess she must have had a charming personality to attract younger men.

>> No.1431319

>>1431203

She wasn't a heavy drinker at all, she was addicted to benzedrine though

>> No.1431334

otherwise it would not have been possible to type so many words on a typewriter maybe

>> No.1431337

>>1431334

That's pretty much the reason she was.

did she smoke it? that would definitely explain her bad teeth when she got older

Because she's a woman.

>> No.1431409

No, but she was a heavy smoker.
