im a poor student and cant afford to buy gifts for my family, but i did buy a 6-pack of those japanese egg fleshlights to hand out to my friends, which i think is cooler (and cheaper) than a book

My mother used to give my oldest sister a book every Christmas. It was always some passive-aggressive self-help book like "How to Control Your Anger" or "Your Rage is Destroying You", etc. And every time my sister would fly into a rage over it, never ever learning from history. As a child I did not understand why my mom did this again and again. Looking back now, those gifts were shitposts irl.

None because they don't read. Even my fake-reader sister asked me not to get her books this year.

I was thinking about getting one of them "the jews and their lies" by Martin Luther as a joke, but even the used copies are £9 so fuck that.
