This pretty much. And they are incredably cheap.

I've seen Wordsworth Classics a few times, but I refrained from buying because they look cheaply made from the website I visited. Have any anons read some of them? How is the build quality (glue, spine, papers falling out)? I've had a terrible experience with Dorian Gray from Alma Classics. The book fell apart even before I began reading it. Had to DIY repair it with wood glue.

Also, which publishers have the best build quality for the price (I can't afford hardbacks atm).

>> No.14274804

Literally nothing wrong with them for English language classics. I've never had a problem with the pages tearing or the spine breaking.

Then it is good. I will consider them when buying my next round. If they are the cheaper, its better for my wallet

I have Chapman’s Homer from Wordsworth. No complaints. It has a tasteful neoclassical painting on the cover too

Average quality, terrible covers. Penguin or Oxford World Classics are infinitely better.

They're great. I read my single volume 'Le Morte Darthur' once and the spine looks so worn that I can tell people I've read it six times.

Their older ones, from the 90s or so I think, are nice enough looking. I have a few from around then, before they started doing the meme covers, and there's nothing wrong with them. Pic related is very cosy to me. Never had an issue with the quality either, and all mine are second-hand too.

Good covers. Sometimes I like to pretend that the book I'm reading is not some classical work, but a random shit I picked up in an airport. It makes you look at it from a completely different angle and even appreciate a bit more.

I also think their 'Classics of World Literature' editions always looked pretty nice, although I really don't like that new font they've gone with since they changed the design.

cheap as fuck, decent enough range, does the job, what's not to like?
why do i care what the cover looks like, how long am i gonna spend looking at it, like, it's a book. like, it's made of words. read it and envision what you want.
