I've been thinking that what we call "npc-ness" is not only people devoid of thought or with no originality, but also people who don't live, but only "exist". People who have little to no interessests, have no drive for anything, do not care about pursuing anything, and would be more than happy if they were made to simply sit on a chair in a room with no windows and just stay there for months. This is the biggest cope thought I've ever read. Numb people are the only ones enlightened. Optimistic nihilists. Based on current science theories, our life is meaningless because humans will cease to exist. Our surroundings do not give us purpose, the purpose is given to us by our creators - ancestors, fathers, mothers. The purpose they give us is to exist, to be.
