This year has been such fucking shit, I don't enjoy anything anymore, not even reading. This was also the first year I seriously came close to killing myself. They threw me in suicide watch and I just nearly avoided being institutionalized..

Books were one of the last things I enjoyed..

Please reccomend me a good book /lit/.

Ironic because this was actually a pretty good year for me

What is "ironic" about that?

Because I feel a lot of people think that a year is “objectively” good or bad when it really just comes down to personal experience

I always hate when people try to characterize a year in its entirety. Though I also hate when people ask me how my day was.

well, there are to some extent objective measurements to judge a year or compare years, say concerning literature, as for example
>prize laureates
>charts
>premiers
>news
>scandals
>newcomers
>happenings
>novel-based movies
>plays in theatre
>notable deaths
>market trends
>interviews
