Can anyone recommend me some high-tier philosophy? Ideally it would be something that scratches the same itch that religion does. I've only read some low-level metaphysics stuff (some Descartes, Kripke) but I'm interested in branching out. Give me something that will help me live a better life. Thanks buds :)

you should probably go down a set path. Here's mine personally, it's based on the philosophies that sound appealing and I want to follow. I'll walk you through it:
Plato (The Laws, The Republic)
Aristotle (Metaphysics, politics, Ethics)

both Plato and Aristotle to understand the philosophical basics before getting into anything too complicated later

St. Augustine (City of God)
St. Thomas Aquinas (Summa Theological, Political writings)

I'm interested in Christian philosophy and I want a better understanding of Christianity and God.

Julius Evola (Revolt against the modern world)
Réne Gunénon (introduction to the study of Hindu doctrines, Crisis of the modern world)

I'm interested in traditionalist but still am skeptical and want a better understanding. I've also heard you need to start Gunénon by reading hindu doctrines.

George Berkeley (A Treatise Concerning the Principles of Human Knowledge, Three Dialogues between Hylas and Philonous)
Arthur Schopenhauer (The World as will and representation)

I'm also interested in idealism and I'm including a book about Hegel's idealism.

So far I've read Plato's Republic and am reading the laws. I'm getting Political writings by saint Thomas Aquinas, City of God, Revolt against the modern world and Metaphysics, Politics and ethics by Aristotle soon.

I have actually read this one. It was cool and definitely the sort of thing I'm looking to explore more.

fpbp.

I'm not sure about Evola or Guenon, Evola's alchemy stuff seemed like a waste of time if you've already read Joseph Campbell. As useful as Picatrix or Lesser Key or Crowley.

Would recommend Rene Girard if you're going to read the Greeks-Christians. The Scapegoat or I See Satan Fall Like Lightning.

Unironically read the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and if you don't believe then read it as a stoic handbook. Like you would Epictetus.

I was involved with the Catholic church for 19 years. I am wholly unconvinced by their teachings. If I were to delve back into Christianity, I would likely start with looking at Protestantism.

Check out the Submerged Reality -- easy read and a good starting point for lesser known mystics like Bohme and Tomberg.

Read “The Metaphysical Club” by Louis Menand. It details the historical contexts that produced American Pragmatism, beginning with the Pre-Civil War era and following through to the late 20th century at and around William James. If you get ahold of Pragmatism in some way, shape, or form early on in your study of philosophy, the way in which you engage with and judge all other philosophies will be drastically enriched. Pragmatism is not a philosophy as such, but a way in which one approaches other philosophies and ideas.

I'll give it a look, but I'm honestly tired of trying to rationalize following the modern Catholic Church. If the Bible IS the word of God, how can any single word be ignored simply because modern degenerates dislike it? If you are a Christian and you disagree with anything written in the Bible, or your leader (looking at you, Francis) attempts to revise the "real meanings" of passages, I have no respect for your fair weather church. This is why I no longer associate with the Catholic church. People (my parents and relatives included) are happy to talk about how much they love Catholicism, yet they openly support things like homosexual marriage. I don't think it is up to us which passages we choose to listen to. If its in the Bible, it is the word of God and should meticulously followed. I have met no modern Catholics who live like this, so I have chosen to distance myself from the Church.

Thank you for the recommendation, though :)

Pretty much Nietzsche to Kant to Deleuze will give you a meta perspective that contextualizes all other philosophy and human thought put together
