Why cry? God is in control

Calvinism isn't very convincing, John Calvin was just a theologian who tried to shoehorn the gospel into an autistic formula that implodes in itself.

In the last part of Saint Augustine's Confessions, he describes his views on God's perception of time. Basically, God experiences it very differently than we do and God doesn’t exactly foresee the future, rather it happens all at once for him. There is no “elect” because God doesn’t exactly pre-determine the fates he sees. In short, there's no way that Calvinism makes sense under an Augustinian model.

That is what calvin believed though. “Election” wasn’t God picking and choosing who would be saved but knowing, even though humans have free will to choose to sin, due to His “perception” who would and would not. Augustine was one of both Luther and Calvin’s biggest influences, they were def aware of his views.

Option 1. Original Christianity. “Gnosticism”
Option 2. Enlightenment. Deism

I've heard this. Particularly, I'd like to see solid exegesis of Romans 9 which refutes the Calvinist understanding.

>Augustine was one of both Luther and Calvin’s biggest influences, they were def aware of his views.
This is true, but Augustine disagreed with Calvin on central points. Augustine did not believe in irresistible grace for example.
