Its different because there wasnt "One central text" or "teaching" for the whole Pagan world. It was lots of different stories/myths that had been passed down orally & through poets.

Generally speaking, they were much more tolerant towards eachother than what Abrahamic sects are, which is due to lack of a centralised teaching and "Orthodox" interpretation.

But yes, there were many different interpretations/stories about the Gods that did contradict eachother at times. It was a very loose "Ideology"
