What are some things in the bible that surface level christians/normies dont understand?

for me its the idea that creation(adam and eve) isn't what physically happend but a parable to simplify things for people who didnt have the education or were able to comprehend complex existential thoughts. Even the idea that heaven and hell are metaphors for living with and without god

>What are some things in the bible that surface level christians/normies dont understand

For three days he and his disciples had gone hungry, because the towns they were passing through were very fanatically Jewish and they would not give them shelter. On the contrary, they stoned them and threw them out of their towns. And Jesus came to a fig tree and he was very angry with the tree. He was not a man of anger, certainly. He was a man of immense love and peace. But this incident stands, on its own, without any explanation.

In the first place it is absurd to be angry with a fig tree because they are hungry and the tree is not welcoming them with figs - and it is not the season for figs! It looks simply absurd and insane: Jesus cursed the tree. Now for Christians it is very difficult to explain what happened. A man like Jesus cursing a tree without any reason or rhyme, because it was not even the season. And even if it were the season, the tree has no obligation to anybody. You cannot expect that the tree should welcome you.

The theory that Jesus travelled to England isn't absurd or implausible, it's actually likely.

Pretty much everything in the Word is meant literally. Even Yeshua’s parables could have been real events. It’s a history book as well as a guidebook.

Read any modern scholarship on the Bible and that notion you have will wither away quickly.

idiots in this thread. Im talking about things like El Shaddai isnt a christian name for god but is actually a cannanite gods name who was adopted, the names of the christian god are the names of other gods the stole. another would be the fact that when god speaks to his heavenly hosts, he refers to them in the plural, meaning that there are undergods beneath him. things like that

Yeshua explicitly mentions the Book of Enoch to the Pharisees, as it was required reading for them. It’s not an accepted part of the Word because it isn’t integral to the second coming of Yeshua. But yeah, it’s still quite an important book in regards to YHWH’s divine justice and judgement.

You can only come up with the theory "god speaks to his heavenly hosts, he refers to them in the plural, meaning that there are undergods beneath him." by having only read the Wikipedia page on the Bible and not having read the Bible itself.

It doesn’t say to eat of His flesh at all. They were to celebrate Communion in remembrance of Him. You know what the verse said. Don’t act like a fool.

When the Word speaks of symbols, it explicitly tells you (Rainbow, Bread and Wine). Everything else is meant literally.

"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day."
Your claim is that everything is literal. So among other things, cannibalistic magic is promoted in the Word.

You don’t read well, do you? I mentioned that it’s quite obvious when there is symbolism in the Word. Perhaps you should read the whole chapter before making a fool of yourself?

John 6:26 KJV
[26] Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

John 6:27 KJV
[27] Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.

What Yeshua is saying in this chapter is to think of Him and the coming sacrifice as the bread that always fills. Only through Him and His sacrifice will anyone find spiritual satiation. So, “eat of my flesh and drink of my blood” is meant in the sense that we, as disciples, should look for satiation (spiritual) in Him.

John 6:31 KJV
[31] Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
John 6:32 KJV
[32] Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
John 6:33 KJV
[33] For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

John 6:35 KJV
[35] And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
