I need to know, does anyone else start writing someone and then think 'Wow, this is total shit and I don't know why I'm bothering?', and give up?
Or do I just have unusually low self-esteem?

Picture unrelated, but hey, Pink Floyd.

>> No.1415101

I've never stuck at anything in my life because of that. Writing is just one of many.

>> No.1415106

It happens, but good writing takes perseverance.

Most novels are completely different from their initial drafts. I'll give you two examples:
The South Park movie involved over 100 completely different drafts.
While writing Crime and Punishment, Dostoevsky got frustrated with the limitations with the first-person narrative form. He burned all the pages and started over with a third-person narrator (and I'm sure other rewrites were involved).

You don't have unusually low self-esteem. You just need to keep at it. If you care about what you're writing, you'll make it.

It's not a lack of self confidence but simply your pathetic lack of will and fondness for creating excuses in life.

That's a huge part of it, and that's a given. Cool pretentious aphoristic crap bro btw. Nice assuming I didn't know that already. Keep it to yourself and kill yourself while you're at it.

i hear that quite often actually, i think it's just a loud minority really. fair enough, i have my moments but aside from them i provide unique insight in threads (unfortunately usually a contrary opinion), am part of /lit/'s identity & I try to help out posters when i can.

thanks for the compliment :)
