Philosophy posts take up literally half the content on both here and /his. Why not just have its own board so we can talk about Walt Whitman and Bukowski?

/his/ was supposed to be that board
unfortunately the pop-thinkers didn't fuck off like they were supposed to

Feel free to start your own subreddit at www.reddit.com! Anyone can join and is free to create their own communities. Thank you and have a good day.

It would have to be philosophy + theology. But then /his/ and /lit/ would be boring af.

No, that would be dogshit. Imagine all the retards that would flock to it.

you jest

>>14113397

No because philosophy is more rhetoric than it is logic. You would know that if your read Derrida

This. Channel 4 doesn't seem to give a shit. I was just thinking about making a site specifically for philosophy discussion, part free form discussion board, part more formal with ability to cite, refer and organize arguments.

>> No.14113642

Having /lit/ be the de-facto philosophy board solves so many problems in itself. It filters out everyone who doesn't think to read or at least have some interest in reading more than they do, and as a result you get a way higher proportion of people who actually know something about what they're talking about compared to escapist idiots who want to 'philosophize' about stupid shit that would otherwise be attracted to a dedicated board. It would basically turn into /x/. Look at the discussions that take place on /sci/ to see what happens when people who are more ignorant of philosophy try to discuss it.

he’s right though. you would be getting the pseuds too stupid to realize where on 4chan philosophy discussions are occurring right now

>> No.14113817

>>14113642
Good point. For all the pseuds on /lit/ they at least pretend that being well-read is a virtue. Take that aspect away and you get way worse pseuds flocking in. A dedicated /phil/ board would be concentrated hell.

I would support that. There definitely is a hunger for philosophy judging by this forum

Link when you do. But I have low hopes for it. I just want to see how it turns out.

You realise that you can post a thread about Whitman or Bukowski whenever you like?

this thread could have been about Whitman or Bukowski.
