I’m a proud southerner but am woefully unread in southern literature. I’ve only read To Kill a Mockingbird, Huck Finn, and Tom Sawyer.

I want to read a quintessential southern gothic work, what do y’all suggest? I purchased Child of God by Cormac McCarthy today, will start it soon, but I want to go ahead and order my next book.
