does everyone have fond memories of "the tree"?

the one you climbed as a child, the one you counted to 30 under before venturing off on a game of hide and seek, the one that gave you scratches, bruises and sticky sappy hands. you know the one, it can't jsut be me.

i just got reminded of this deep memory of mine while reading on tolstoy's death and how it stated simply: he was buried under a tree he liked to play under when he was a child. idk why that hit me so hard. a grown man, bearded and grayed and wrinkled still remembered what it was like to climb trees and play as a child. is there really anything more cruel then aging?

i guess the grass is always greener. we have no accounts of anyon being immortal for htem to tell us truly how it feels. Only mortal beings creativing immortal beings (vampires, etc) so we really never have any say in how life as a forever 27 year old man would be.

I can't think of a single drawback to immortality of course if you stay within the 20-35 bodily age

I had several trees I climbed into.
I want to be buried underneath a tree too. Save the trouble of a pine box. Why burn? Just feed what’s left of me to a living tree.
