What the fuck is this actually about? I can't make any sense of it. Just like Deleuze, it goes completely over my head.

It's pretty straightforward, what are you confused about

>> No.14097207

If you haven't read Guenon you will not understand Evola's notions of tradition. That being said, I don't know how the book would go completely over your head. You probably just have a poor attention span. He does not mention much of any great technical specificity in the book. What are you having problems with?

Seemed easy to me
In the past there wuz tradition n shiet, people lived spirually and the world was alive, now people are just operators of machines and consumers obsessed with materials

Start with Guenon and it will make more sense

you're supposed to read this one last, apparently

It's really abstract stuff i'm not familiar with and unable to put into context. Maye i'm just a brainlet, though.

That is where previously understanding of Guenon would help you. The Crisis of the Modern world and The Reign of Quantity both talk about Qualitative vs Quantitative time I believe.

read Nietzsche man.

Which book would summarize Guenon's thought in order to start with Evola?

>> No.14098690

The Essential Rene Guenon

>> No.14098696

Ultimately it's an investigation of Hindu tradition or Sanatana dharma in ancient Europe.

>> No.14098736

>>14097261
yeah he's just talking about cyclical time

Just keep reading and you'll figure it out later. When I first read it I didn't get it either

>> No.14098751

How is it even close to Deleuze?
He states clearly and examples what his views on this and that topic are.

Am I just a genius, but I read the entirety of the Greeks at 15, along with many other thinkers such as Jung and Guenon, but in this case also all of Evolas works and had no trouble understanding it. I read Guenon after Evola btw. And read Kant at 17.
