The Greeks. Also some good introduction to philosophy like >>14071289 mentioned.

Read some Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, maybe wikipedia articles about:

-Plato
-Aristotle
-Descartes
-Kant
-Hegel
-Marx (alienation, base/superstructure)
-Wittgenstein

These are not the "wisest" "best" or anything, but most influential philosophers. Of course arguably you can add many more like Heidegger, Hume, Schopenhauer, Leibinz and so on but IMHO that will give you some kind of a general idea what philosophy is.

Of course reading encyclopedic entries gives you only a very basic introduction. Obviously you have to read the books to comprehend them.

Critique of Pure Reason. It's a little long for an intro book, but a real page turner. Take notes and you'll be fine.

>> No.14072698

Epictetus - Handbook (Enchiridion)
Marcus Aurelius - Meditations
Seneca - Essays (and also Letters, but it's a long as fuck collection, just read the highlights)

The few primary sources worth reading in current year

Oh, and Nietzsche, but with him it's best to read his works, because his philosophy is hardly managable as list of concepts.
