Hello /lit/,

my little brother wants to read Stephen Kings "IT", because of all the movie hype around it. I have neither watched the movie nor read the book, but I heard that there are violent sex scenes in it. So I don't know if I should allow him to read it.
Has anybody read it and can tell me what exactly is depicted?
I don't want to read it, so it would be really helpful if somebody can help me out here.

The kids were doing something and then out of the random the girl wanted to fuck them for some reason and then all the boys fucked her and then they achieved some collective consciousness or smth

It's only one page out of 1100... and in my opinion it isn't all that shocking... IT is a great book and I would even go as far as calling it the best horror book of the boomer generation... A good horror book is more about suspense than the horror, because that's just a think layer...
House of leaves is generation x (although more complex and harder to read), I made an attempt at a millennial horror with my story The Entity...

thank you for this information... wtf though

I dont think that the Greeks are accessible enough for him to enjoy. He has read books about Greek mythology though, and he liked it.

I'm trying.

Call me prejudiced but I would never consider someone who has written and published that many novels a good author.

King is perfect for children, he's gonna be fine.

King is a really bad author that has managed to do some good stuff, Misery being his best, but that's just an exception that confirms the rule.

How old is he? If he's under 17 than I think it could be a good time to read King. It's good for kids to learn that they can read long novels (that aren't Harry Potter) without giving up.

Why are you being a controlling cunt? He's your brother, not your own child. Fuck off you faggot.

King has stated that he does not structure his stories before writing, he just makes it up as he goes. As a result, most of his books start to ramble about halfway through and just get boring. As an added plus, It was written at the peak of his coke addiction for added insanity.

Novelists actually structure their writing? I thought they all just winged it. How do "plan" your book out?

I will never allow him to become a coomer like I was. Never. I would rather die than let that happen. If that means I have to censor the media he consumes, so be it.

Why?

>> No.14060098

it opens with a brutal murder of a homosexual, the kid sex scene is at the very end; there's a whole chapter devoted to the KKK ("league of white decency") burning a nigger club

do you want your brother to get based?

Good job, OP. I wish I had someone like that when I was younger.
