Christians have made me despise him. I live around many catholics and protestands, I never talk about religion with people but they do. I am getting annoyed by them. Generally a very overrated figure, someone who we've been conditioned to praise from childhood onwards, whereby name-dropping Jesus as the paragon of virtue is practically a social norm now, even for people who don't believe in Christianity. Jesus has several negative qualities, such as his intolerance towards those who disbelieve him as who he claimed himself to be, and the extremely venemous language he used towards people he didn't like. If a modern New Athiest called Christians by any of the names Jesus used against the Pharisees (children of Satan, brood of vipers), they'd be very upset and would disdain atheists even more than they already do. But when Jesus does it, it's the very standard of morality, apparently. And when Christians follow his example and refer to everyone they don't like by such mean names, everyone else is expected to merely sit back and receive such undeserved slander. If Christians claim that everyone besides themselves are going to Hell, they are just being devotees - but if anyone else believed the same for Christians, or just generally believing so for anyone who disagrees with them.

Socrates was a far wiser and more humble individual, but ever since Christianity took over the very definition of wisdom and humility have changed: no longer is questioning one's beliefs or authorities the mark of a mature mind, nor is acknowledging oneself to be capable or error and of not already having all of the answers already a display of humility - ever since the Bible was compiled, the very inverse of these perceptions have taken hold: the more faith you have in your beliefs, the more wisdom you show; and the more you persecute others of different beliefs than you while exalting your own ideology displays greater humility than otherwise.

There's also a bit of unfortunate retconning found among modern people, whereby they can't simply admit to a fault in Jesus Christ, and therefore have to change his very words to meet their own considerations of what is true. Hell is no longer a literal Lake of Fire but merely the state of separation from Yahweh - even though Jesus said no such thing, describing it as a literal, fiery lake.

All in all, Jesus certainly had wisdom. But not of any supernatural degree, nor of any kind which puts the remaining men of history to shame. What Jesus was most successful at was the mass indoctrination of his followers, yet this was not merely his own achievement, but that of the political authorities who co-opted his figure for their ends. To believe that Jesus was a wise man is something any sensible person would generally agree with. To believe that he created the universe, however, is something one would only consider sensible if your culture had been forced to believe it for thousands of years. To suggest that Socrates and Genghis Khan created the universe may seem absurd to us, but could appear coherent to us were the tale repeated enough.

The greatest value of Christianity lies in it's social utility and aesthetic achievements, rather than its philosophical profundity. The literary quality of the Bible, for example, is largely unparalleled in world literature (still beat by Shakespeare of course, and others). The Biblical authors achieve a standard of linguistic excellence which still impresses to this era, but which unfortunately deceives people as to the metaphysical reality of the concepts spoken of.

If you read into Jesus's words, you'll see he said quite nasty things to people he didn't approve of, and condemned any who would not believe in his ideology, and so Christians are merely following suit. When they call you a child of the Devil, and tell you that you're going to Hell for not believing as they do, they're following their teacher verbatim. I've never been a fan of the whole "I like your Christ but not your Christians" sentiment, since most Christian behaviors come directly from those of Christ, and claiming otherwise is either ignorance or dishonesty. That said, there are a few ways in which Jesus excels over his followers, so the point has some validity.
