Maybe, but probably only if you plan to do something involving the intersection of the two. The challenge with math is it's not itself a trade: you need to specialize in a secondary topic area which will be your day job that uses math.

For these two topics, I'd seek job listings related to NLP, data analytics, and ML. There's a shortage of people well-versed in the technical skills and linguistics working on machine understanding.

I think people who take maths have real balls, and didn't cop out for a diluted maths Comp Sci. degree.
If you were dissect my feelings on this, they probably stem not directly from jealousy - I'm pretty happy with where I am - but something akin to it. I hate the realities of software development work, and tend to think I'd dislike anyone who would flourish in that environment.

You can tell this board hasn't studied math beyond high school and maybe glancing at a copy of Elements; higher math is all about looking at incredibly obscure, abstract problems that have no philosophical (or practical at all, for that matter) relevance whatsoever. Every one in while you'll get some broad insight by looking together at a body of established work, but that's not what math is about and most mathematicians don't care about it. The only philosophic field of math at all is set theory / foundations, and it's ded outside of a few autists here and there.
