When I remember to log in to Shelfari, I get obsessive and update. I'll forget for months at a time, though. I joined Goodreads and never went back.

I have to restrain myself from updating my reading status regularly. It's tempting to update it whenever I stop reading, even though I have like nobody who can see my status anyway.

I use Shelfari and Goodreads quite regularly. They both have something unique to offer.

I have no desire to create a database online for other people to see what I'm reading, have read or will read. Honestly I find this whole trend to give away every random thought and personal detail about yourself online disturbing.

yes, I do use goodreads. its a lovely tool, and makes you feel special to see your progress. it really helps myself feel better than everyone else.
