Hey /lit/bros,

I'm in a creative writing workshop at my college. Should be invaluable resource, but it's full of SJWs.

Do you have any workshop horror stories? Or anything related?

maybe you should attend a workshop on the illusion of asymmetric insight

Being afraid of their probability to make things about their politics has nothing to do with whether I think they're more or less inept than me.

Maybe you should attend a workshop on kill yourself.

There was this one cunt in my English program in college. He always wore an Adidas tracksuit, had a shitty $5 haircut, and would never shut the fuck up about his book that he was writing. His favorite author was Stephen King. One time he asked me if I ever read Stephen King's "on reading". I said no. It was long ago so I don't remember anything this fag said specifically; it was mainly just an endless stream of pretentious diarrhea. I really want to time travel back to my university days so I can punch that cunt in the face.

I notice that the students that seem to offer the best advice have the shittiest writing. And I don't understand it.

I'm a creative writing minor so I've been through a few workshops. I also work as a Writing Tutor on campus, so I've studied feedback a lot.

There's a lot of archetypes you'll find in creative writing courses. Some will just say every piece "has good form", "interesting diction", and other vague and pointless comments. A few will be focused only on their personal feelings on the piece.

My personal pet peeve in creative writing courses are the girls who come to the class solely to spew depressive garbage about how shitty their lives are when they're just the same privileged assholes as the rest of us wanting attention.

My buddy is a lit creative writing guy and said his classes and workshops were useless and everyone was retarded. I had the same experience in screenwriting for my film degree.

Not too days ago my workshop class had us critique one girl’s story in which the protagonist gets raped, impregnated, and later falls in love with a guy who shares physical features with her rapist. Shit was wild. She confirmed to the class that the rapist and the boyfriend were one and the same.
