All in all, it's pretty much a wonderful "popular history" book (i.e., not an expensive textbook) for audiences that aren't stupid or childish (i.e., have a genuine interest in Napoleon).

I'd seen the TV series so thought i'd finally get round to reading the book.

Just starting Discworld, myself. The only other Pratchett book I've read was Good Omens, and I loved that. This one is seeming pretty great too, so far!

Really I think the sudden and violent ending makes the book. It's otherwise fairly forgettable in my opinion. Well written certainly, but forgettable.
