mira is dogshit. however, her style of expression ("sad neurotic girl posting ironic shit from her bed while eating doritos") has become to massively popular over the past decade that she must count as one of the most influential writers of our time (if she indeed pioneered said style and didn't merely latch onto it; research is tricky and i haven't done any)

for all the attention she has received mira has otherwise offered up very little. one extremely slim poetry paperback and a shared volume of collected tweets (of course). whereas other twitter posters of the early and mid-'00s have parlayed their increasing interactions to bigger things (sosadtoday AKA melissa broder is a novelist now, for example), mira seems content with smoking weed and posting about smoking weed. perhaps she has a corker of a book in the pipeline, but i doubt it

meanwhile, the internet is a cruel place and no imagined feminist sisterhood will rescue her from irrelevancy. in posting circles, she's well on her way to boomerdom. in a few years, anyone can crack her twitter greatest hits and cringe lovingly at the contents, much like we do with the quaint vernacular of pre-financial crash internet today

This doesn't logically follow. Mira was an expression of a zeitgeist, not an influencer of it. Her dime a dozen dogshit could be found anywhere. She didn't get published by Tao because she was somehow selected for merit, she got published because she was the first one he happened across and he needed some shit like Mira to publish because he was aware that was the zeitgeist. It could have been a million other idiots like her.

Also a good dose of nepotism is responsible for her fame. A lot of people see him being a victim of circumstance as a well-deserved irony, but to epic gamers who've been talked out of "depression" by JBP, this won't quite make sense.
