Who are some other writers like Lermontov? Or books like A Hero of Our Time? Looking for dark Byronic figures not written by w*men or as Dumas-esque caricatures

to OP, I seriously can't think of another book like Hero of our times. Pushkin has some poetry that is similar to Lermontov's poetry, and they had kind of similar lives but that's not really what you're after I don't think.
