Hey /lit/, /k/ here. So the lit threads on /k/ have been very helpful in giving me recommendations and I even came here at the beginning of the summer to ask for recommendations as well.
Well, I'm returning and I would like help specifically with books about guerrilla warfare. I'm about to finish my BA in History and Education and am considering doing a masters program on the history of guerrilla warfare so any reading or source material on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you, but I already have it.
Maybe I should mention that the pic is a collection of (most of) my books. And Sun Tzu is the 6th one in there.

Unless he wrote other notable material I'm not aware of. Which now that I'm saying it, seems likely.

Sorry I didn't realise that was your reading list, you should honestly go through and type it out or at least make it into a few decently readable charts. I mainly just wanted to bump the thread anyways for you. Honestly, if it's for the MA read whatever secondary sources on Mao and others that you can get.

So far Fry The Brain has had the biggest impact on me.
I've taken some classes that focused on high speed low drag stuff like bounding and peeling and small unit tactics, but Fry The Brain really reminded me how important marksmanship is and how devastating a "sniper" can be, especially in an urban environment.
Combine that with The Precision Rifle B.I.B.L.E. by Nicholas Irving and that is probably the path to being the most efficient warfighter a single person can be.
And that combined with the fact that most countries in the west have SOME legal way of getting a hold of a bolt action rifle, which arguably a superior tool (however the book does discuss that other firearms, even pistols can most certainly be used), and that hunting is not only a normal pastime but an extremely good way to familiarize yourself with certain aspects of "sniping", you don't have to worry about a lot of legality if you want to practice or train.

Again, I'm glad I'm somewhat familiar with room clearing and small unit tactics, but the idea of a single individual being as effective as they possible could be is found in the role of the sniper, and Fry The Brain and The Precision Rifle B.I.B.L.E. are what I would recommend.

Fangs of the Lone Wolf is about Chechnyan guerrilla tactics
The Seven Madmen and The Flamethrowers are good but quite "arty" and introspective views on the psychology and disassociation relating to a revolutionary uprising.
Both worthwhile reads.

Haven't applied anywhere yet, lol. I've been asking around cause I would need to find someone who is specialized enough in the field.
Plus I may choose to immediately pursue a job as a highschool teacher, which is what I want to do as a career.
And then as a teacher you are required to get additional schooling anyway, so I might pursue my masters, just in that order.

I don't think that this is an intellectually honest observation. There are no two sides to Islam (except the small minority of reformers who I also follow).
There is always more than one side to the political aspects of conflicts, most certainly, but Muhammad was quite clear about his opinions on the legitimacy of violence as a means of spreading his teachings.
But feel free to expand.

>>13750832
That seems really familiar. I will see if I already have that somewhere. Thank you for reminding me about it.
