Under your standards /lit was never born because that's the way it's always been. Most people fear introspection and self-analysis. Most people never strive to be much more than the average person. To them, it's either frightening, tedious, or both.

Intellectuals don't see either of these things as frightening or tedious. They see it as thrilling. It's what we live for. It's why we do psychedelics, lock ourselves in rooms and try to come up with theories and ideas that the billions who came before us may have overlooked.

Part of being an "intellectual" is acknowledging and understanding this and not trying to shove your gifted mindset down others throats. Lead them like a flock of sheep. The ones with the potential to be like you will naturally seek the same mindthrills you once sought. That's why smart people are here. To lead most and influence some.

But god damn it don't try so hard! It'll be in vain!

And if you're 'good,' you'll lead them somewhere nice rather than off the edge of some cliff.

I think most people are "stupid" (actually, average) for genetic reasons. I think people who are "smart" shouldn't try to force people who are "stupid" to have the same natural fascination with introspection, self-analysis and philosophy that they have.

It's why the education system fails. If the person isn't genuinely interested in what you're talking about, it becomes a bunch of mindless fucking memorization.
