Technically the Arabic says he was betrothed to her at six. If he consummated the marriage quickly it is because not doing so is a violation of the wife's rights. So a pathological predilection for children is clearly not there

Ibn Taymiyyah never got married but he took hundreds of slaves in war and actually was sued by one of his slaves for not having sex with her, lol. He trained multiple female scholars so he seemed to get on well with women.
