I have. I'm currently using it to make sense of the latest season of Twin Peaks. The plex is the nuclear launch in 1950s New Mexico; the time circuit is the "unofficial" version of events with each gate figuring Cooper's passage across the red curtain threshold; and the warp leads to the reality in which Laura went missing rather than being murdered.

My guess is either Lynch borrowed the loop ("is it future or is it past?") used in The Return from the organising principles of the numogram, or perhaps, through meditation, used his own empty vessel to incubate a parallel system to the time-circuit (IE, artificial time production), giving him as much time as he wanted. After all, he did demand that the network commission twice as many episodes, didn't he?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the overall aesthetic worth of season 3. Obviously certain parts were reality-transcending, but these seemed to be the outliers in what was, overall, a clunky and awkward iteration of what Lynch was trying to express. Long, bloated and convoluted, but there are moments which are probably the best thing I've seen on TV in the last twenty years. Pic related was a little vignette that is ultimately unrelated to the main plot, but its one of those moments that is so unquestionably 'lynchean', definitely a favourite. Episode 8 is a rare instance of an artist doing whatever the fuck he wants to do on television, the dougie arc is like its own little movie about a retarded wizard who just follows the stream of creation to his success, and the juxtaposition between the last two episodes is more than I could've hoped for in terms of narrative (dis)satisfaction.

There's obviously bts footage of Lynch flipping out about time constraints, but I still think he managed to say a hell of a lot. I'm even pretty sympathetic to the sweeping thing as a joke at the viewer's expense, expecting everything to be tied up, or rather, 'tidied up' by the end.

Thanks for the take. I suppose I have to devote myself to another go-round. I suppose a great deal of my hesitation is due to the unbelievable draw Lynch has (regardless of his admitted talent) to unreflective and simpering fanboys, desperate for an intellectual community. But that's my own shortcoming.
