Can we say that he is a true heir of philosophical pessimism?

I love him, he truly has great insight sometimes. If you don't care about religion a good chunk of his writings might seem vague though.
And he's not even that pessimistic either, sometimes he made me feel quite joyous with my life.

His attitude towards suicide is genuinely breathtaking. The only thing that keeps us alive is the idea that life does inevitably end (sooner or later), and that the thought of the freedom offered by suicide is enough to keep us going on, knowing that we could have gone through with it. He's almost like a heretical knight of faith. I think one of the most fundamental aspects of humanity is that we will always have– in the back of our minds–the thought of boundless escape, of tyrannical violence, of sadomaschism or self-harm. However Freud was wrong– we don't sublimate these ideas into creative endeavours, we indulge in them as the pure fantasies that they are. We do not long for annihilation, we are merely comforted by the darkness and anonymity of escape.

Hack who developed a meme philosophy after WWII because he was too cowardly to affirm his fascism in the face of globo-homo, so he acted like a suicidal pseud in parisian cafes.

It sounds more like the typical stock anti-natalist/atheist/nihilist schlock I'd expect to read from the future vagrants (philosophy majors) that infest this board.

>dude nothing is meaningful we're all just molecules in motion
>I'm gonna have kids to convince them to be antinatalists
>ends up never having kids
