There was a book I saw called Our Posthuman Future by Fukuyama. I don't really have any experience with his work, as I've heard its been debunked.

Yeah it's the obvious book, but it's also really entry level. Im looking for something better, since this is a form of technology that will completely transform the world, perhaps even more than AI or full-scale automation.

That's not really debunked, it's mostly Fukuyama's "The End of History and the Last Man" that people consider 'debunked' now that liberal democracy is being encroached upon once more by fascism and to a lesser extent communism.

Why are we living in this world? I'm scared of the 2020's when we start living out the reality of the 2000's. Get what I mean?
We're exiting the 80's retromania world we currently reside in, and seeing the emergence of the next phase: Cyberreality usurping hyperreality where meme's will be 4-d and interactive; you might even be able to marry them!
It will be interesting to see the consumer access to Chinese manufactured wetware.
