Can someone explain to me why Christians stress being meek, poor and celibate? Like I understand celibacy as in not fornicating but the lifelong monk stuff makes no sense to me, don't you want children? And don't you like women? God said get busy

Answers in several different books of the Bible but I'll sum it up;

Women are evil and if you like them you won't think about God enough

Women aren't evil, just many. After all God did not create them to be a problem for men but a helpmeet to make him happier

No, He made them because being alone is not good

He made procreation require two sexes for their complimentary nature, not because one is good and the other bad

Meek because human pride clouds divine wisdom.
Poor because materialism can lead one to be vain.
Clerical celibacy because a family life can get in the way of serving God and his people.

Modesty does not necessitate meanness.

Wealth does not necessitate materialism. The Rashidun were all very wealthy but lived austere lives. By contrast many monks have no property but live very well.

Saying a family gets in the way of serving God makes no sense. How could a family get in the way of serving God? You can still pray and be moral with a family.

I'm only speaking about clerical celibacy. Priests especially need to be celibate because of how many duties they have. Taking care of a wife and children is a lot of work, and having to juggle priestly duties and family life just isn't worth it. Also, priests are technically married to the Church itself. I don't feel like looking too far into the theology right now, but 1 Corinthians 7 supports me.

Why do Buddhists stress begging for your meals? Someone has to till the soil to grow that food.

Well done. You figured out why Christianity is a cuck religion.
