Deep down you know that you only read philosophy, because you think it will make you interesting and a "deep" person. But reality is: you're pretty boring to normies and listing "philosophy" among your hobbies will not make you more popular.

>> No.13550465

The normie cope of convincing themselves that anyone who pursues art or philosophy or intellectual pursuits is "pretending" because their hyper self-awareness has left them unable to find real joy in anything is such a sad and self-destructive viewpoint.

Nothing more pseud than starting with the greeks tbqh but some philosophy like emerson and thoreau are genuinely enjoyable and interesting. If the philosophical work requires you to read multiple other philosophical works beforehand to begin to understand basic concepts the author puts forth, it's probably not worth reading in the first place. Most of philosophy has been thoroughly BTFO'd by science anyways (I love that statement, always makes philocucks seethe)

That's literature, not philosophy

Idk Stoicism for example is pretty based. Philosophy of the likes of Hegel and masturbatory delusion are well pretty subjective as far as enjoyment goes. But anyone can enjoy Seneca without ever talking about him with other people. If anything, it's a redpill

sooooooo you tried reading philosophy because you thought it would make you interesting and a "deep" person but because it was too much for you and you're still a pretty boring normie and you see listing "philosophy" among your hobbies is not gonna make you more popular, you thought you could come here with your screeching and start a circle jerk? Those who say that you are absolutely wrong, like >>13550420 are touched by a different case of despair but are just as pathetic as you, OP, so don't feel too bad. Of course there's a social element to literature: it's ab initio social. It's the characterization of this social element that has value, and your own is so very opaque in its retardation, you might as well go on /r9k/.

You must first understand the nature of your pathetic self and of its despair. Read Kierkegaard, meditate/pray (i.e. focus on your inner being), take walks, and stop giving a fuck about other people's thoughts so much; they're all like you.
