Any books explaining the benefits and downsides of semen retention by renowned authors?

t. cumbrain, plz help

>> No.13545002

benefits: pseudoscience
downsides: a lot, like prostate cancer and killing yourself after you realize that you will forever be an incel and whether you touch yourself or not won't fix you

I don't know about books, but I'm pretty sure I've read that not fapping increases testosterone, and I think it's pretty obvious that a porn addiction is bad for a multitude of reasons. Either way, it's probably healthier to not be a cumbrain than to be one. Try fapping once every 3 days, you'll be hornier and easier to get off, requiring less visual stimulation. You should be able to slowly wean yourself off porn that way.

godspeed

Men are supposed to retain their semen, agressiveness and take risks when they are young, so they would find partners. After they find partners, they should cum a lot so they are pacified and able to provide for the children.

Semen is of higher quality if it's "fresh" if I recall so replacing it frequently would lead to better offspring

Your Brain On Porn by Gary Wilson. He has some talks on YouTube which you can check out before buying (though there's probably a pdf on libgen).

I've made 30 days in the past, so I know from experience the benefits. I think one essential factor in success is certainty of the utility in your course of action, i.e. knowing for sure that you are doing the right thing. After two weeks or so, after the flatlining period, you will begin to reap the rewards more fully. The two week period is the process of getting yourself out of the pit, if you can commit to that then you'll be able to follow through.

Don't bother with women, I had girlfriends who said they love me but we live in times of a broken social contract, it won't last; the only way to thrive in times of social hyper-atomism is to focus on improving yourself and achieving a meditative state more often, which chastity can give you.

Also regular meditation can help with chastity, Eknath Easwaran's Meditation was an introductory text that helped me a lot.

Also blocking porn sites (they have absolutely nothing of value to give you, only the opposite) and other sites on which you waste time (like this one*). I'd recommend the book The Shallows by Nicholas Carr on the side-effects the Internet can have on neurological functioning. Exercising regularly as a way of harnessing frustration, eating healthy, putting spare time into reading and putting time into a lucrative career (solitary and rich>solitary and poor, also wealth and status makes people flock to you more so than not), I don't know what else to say. Writing this more for myself than anyone else to remind myself why I do this.

*I'm in the process of blocking websites on my laptop (https://www.wikihow.com/Block-a-Website-on-Your-Computer)), I'm on /lit/ as a sort of commemoration before I block this waste of time.

I mean I'm not against Christianity, but concretely (and if you actually want to stop) I'd recommend meditation, exercise, and the other stuff I mentioned. If you find being a Christian fulfilling, be my guest.

Ok, gonna go. Take care, bros.

i've been experimenting with the nofap thing the past few weeks and this is just untrue.

first few days are pretty hard because its easy and there's not a lot of conviction in experimentation; i actually started on accident. it was a busy weekend and i went a few days without fapping so i thought what the hell, i'll just do the full seven. (according to what i've read there's a substantial increase in testosterone between days 5 and 7; the preceding days don't see much increase).

in short, i had more energy, focus, slept better. i just feel more capable overall. the downside is wanting to fuck the entire planet. i did fap again after 7 days and the load was goddamn huge, i'd probably recc jackin it every few days like >>13545352 says. its not like fapping pushes you back to day one of the seven and you have to restart.
hooking up with girls(or guys i guess) is the obvious uncontrolled factor. i don't know why we dont consider fucking to be the same ejaculate as fapping.

the point, for me and for many, is discipline. if you think its just being pseudoscience you're delusional if you believe that there's no difference between your mind when you rip your dick off to porn every night versus your mind when simply going to bed every night.

i don't know of any authors, but having figured it out myself i'd recc it

Benefits of sexual activity:pseudoscience
Downsides: thousands including prostate cancer

Sexual activity and prostate cancer risk in men diagnosed at a younger age
https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2008.08030.x

>Whereas frequent overall sexual activity in younger life (20s) increased the disease risk, it appeared to be protective against the disease when older (50s). Alone, frequent masturbation activity was a marker for increased risk in the 20s and 30s

Abstinence is bad for you. And to anyone who thinks masturbation lessens your creative output, take a look at Proust, a jerk off champion

>> No.13546391

The last time I tried nofap I was horny as hell all the time after the first week. I gave up just because I felt more looney in the head by not fapping in this way. Has anybody in their early 20s had an alternative experience with prolonged no faps? I'd be willing to put the effort into not masturbating if the outcome was actually beneficial, but in my experience it is not. I would choose to completely remove my sex drive if I could, but I'm not super enthusiastic about the idea of castration.

>> No.13546521

Have you ever been so horny that your brain was shut off and you were on the verge of doing something really stupid, but then you jerked off and realized how insane it would have been to follow through?

Flipside, I think we've all been to emotionally and hormonally drained (get it) to pursue real opportunities with aggression. "I don't have to ask for her number, I'll just jerk off."

What's the balance here? I think I would have done some very stupid, embarrassing, borderline illegal shit had I not released some of the steam from my pipes. But it's also not good to make masturbation your only release, you need that guiding force.

How has this nofap thing grown so much? It seems like it has steadily kept gaining momentum throughout the years and now it seems it has finally exploded. Listen if you want to improve your life, simply cutting out masturbation is not going deep into the roots of the real issue. This obsession the world has with what actually are small facets of living, people that fixate on masturbation are no different that "have sex" posters. Having sex or refraining from it is not going significantly make you greater or lesser, motivate you more, activate your almonds or give you superpowers. The search for that final answer, that million dollar ticket, that one simple trick to solve everything in your life, is exactly the same mentality that makes people fall for shitty diets, infomercials and cults. There is no single answer or magic drug, you can't simply take the pill of your favorite color and hope everything gets resolved.

If i don't jerk it regularly my balls swell up and my prostate gets really painful. How can nofap benefit me if it just results in crippling pain?
