Thoughts on the Dune series? I thought the first one was amazing and I'd recommend it to any sci-fi fan, but they seemed to decline in quality with each subsequent book. Almost all build-up, very little to no payoff. Finished God-Emperor recently and I don't feel particularly compelled to read on.

I’m about 150 pgs into Heretics and I’m enjoying it a lot solely based on the fact that it goes into a lot more detail about the lore and universe than any of the other books. Plus gholas are cool
