What do you think about it? What about their community?

It's good to keep track of what you read and add to-read books. I know that some people here swear to DIY Excel sheets, but Goodreads is great for the convenience.

I like the reviews, if you can call that community, but otherwise I haven't dived into the forums

It's useful for getting recommendations and tracking all the books I want to read. Can't really say much about the community because I mostly follow /lit/ users, browse their lists and read their reviews.

The book tracking is nice. Watching the "You have read X books this year" counter increment over time unironically motivates me to read more.

My friends who are most active on the site generally fall into the catagories of
1. Reading heaps of pulpy romance books (one girl regularly crushes 50+ of these books a year)
2. Books about feminism, or something about a plucky girl breaking gender norms and starting a successful business, or climbing a mountain or something
3. Thinly-veiled helf-help books by silicon valley CEOs

I was thinking of using another tool in order to fight the antichrist (jeff bezos) but I still didn't find a good one, there is a brazilian one called Skoob, but when I tried, the database on non-translated books was poor and I couldn't even find a way to add new books, even though I was almost certain that it had this option, maybe they changed it in the last two years, but for now I'll keep using goodreads because it's easier

Use it purely for tracking book reads, I use other sites to recommend stuff to me or just use /lit/. The reviews on there are too fucking batshit insane to give any sort of proper recommendations; while amusing to read, if you took it seriously you'd never read any good books since they get voted down to 3 and a half stars constantly.

Mostly use the website for listing the books I've read and the weird shit I find.

Went hog wild and read 200 books, but most of them were Male & Female romances and comic books. So it's questionable how well read I am.

Dr. Slump was really worth the read through.

Eh, not sure. But I've seen too much mental illness symptoms of freakouts so I'd be worried in your shoes.

I had seen a streamer get offensive, post porn on his twitter, have commentary channels tell people this person is mentally ill and stop enabling this! Then the streamer killed himself due to his mental illness.

So reach out with a dumb image of something.

Yeah the "community" is obnoxious similar to the general population of any majorly used site. BUT it is a great tool for tracking and finding similar reads. I never saw the thread someone else was talking about so I started a new thread for anyone that wants to post their username.
