There's a common fallacy by fellow christians that we as humans are somehow supernatural creatures, somehow separated to the natural world. The term of "dust from the ground" refers to the fact that our physical self is made and of this universe. We are made of the same cosmic "dust" that compromises the birds, the mountains, and the stars. Evolution shows how we are physically tied to the motion and progress of the universe and organic life.

Yet the life that is referred above, is not the life defined by a beating heart, nor the biological one of consumption and reproduction. The life He breathed into us, is the eternal life, our soul, our spirit. This is what so starkly separates us from the other animals and the "dust of the ground."
