5 minutes ago this board suffered an attack that shuddered it to its core

An /a/ insurgent attempted to implant there anime garbage upon our sovereign state in order to convert and ultimately befudder our very beings as /lit/izens of the republic

In this dark time we must have a chart thread to give us hope because if there is no charts there is no hope

haven't read much national works, I'm always ashamed by how little I've read. It was one of my goals this year to read more of it. Well, there's still time, maybe will read mostly brazilian works until the end of the year.
I loved Grande Sertão and Os Sertões. By Assis, the one I liked more is posthumous memoirs. Can't recommend anything else, sorry.

Work your way down from the modernists to the very roots of our literature. I am currently writing a thesis on Padre Antonio Vieira for law school, look him up. He's known as Príncipe da Língua Brasileira. Even though he's a tuga, he wrote most of his sermons in BR. Up until the 19th century he was THE reference when talking about rhetoric. I couldn't recommend him enough!

Others I enjoy are Gregório de Matos and Nelson Rodrigues (if you enjoy perv disgusting and wonderfully written shit).

This is an awful list of books. Of the three existential books, none are staples of the genre. The single Christian book is a children's book. The Time Traveler's Wife is listed as high-brow. Places Candide under Literaray Qua Literary (as if that's meaningful) instead of under Satire. Has Conan as Heroic, instead of Sword and Scorcery, which is right next to it. It puts Time Machine in the same category as Dune, while Solaris is counted as Hard Science Fiction, with literally no Asimov. Hitchhiker's Guide is put under Comic, with no connection to Sci-Fi, and of course there's no more traditional comic stories, such as even Lucky Jim or Pickwick Papers. And with that in mind, Don Quixote isn't anywhere in the entire chart!

I know about the lit starter kit, but I've had trouble really getting into books. I don't pick up a book and almost immediately get into it like when I was younger, or even with certain books in high school, if I remember right. If I do finish something, it's usually a slog or forced and I don't feel anything much from it. Revisiting Catcher in the Rye wasn't bad about a year ago, but nothing else Salinger wrote gave that same kind of inspiration. Should I just force my way through the chart for the sake of completing it and seeing what I may get from it along the way?
